• Authentication data - Securely managed by Firebase Authentication (Sign in with Apple or email/password)

If you use Sign in with Apple, you may choose to hide your email address. In this case, Apple provides us with a private relay email address.

2.2 Usage Information

We collect information about how you use the App:

• Page count - Number of pages processed (to enforce usage limits)
• Subscription status - Whether you're on Free or Pro tier
• Account creation date

2.3 Content You Provide

When you use the App, you may provide:

• Images - Photos of handwritten notes you upload for conversion
• Documents - The resulting LaTeX code and PDF files

2.4 Automatically Collected Information

We may automatically collect:

• Device type and operating system version
• App version
• General crash and error logs (to improve the App)

4. How We Process Your Images

When you upload an image for conversion:

1. Your image is sent securely (via HTTPS) to our backend server
2. The image is forwarded to Google's Gemini AI for processing
3. The AI generates LaTeX code from your handwritten content
4. The LaTeX is returned to your device
5. The image is discarded from our servers immediately after processing

Google may process your images according to their Privacy Policy and Data Processing terms for the Gemini API.

5. Data Storage and Security

5.1 Where Your Data is Stored

• Account data - Stored in Firebase (Google Cloud) servers in the United States
• Documents (LaTeX/PDF) - Stored locally on your device
• Images - Stored locally on your device; only transmitted temporarily for processing

5.2 Security Measures

We implement appropriate security measures including:

• Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
• Secure authentication via Firebase Auth
• Access controls and authentication tokens
• Regular security reviews

8.1 Access and Export

You can access your documents directly in the App. All your LaTeX and PDF files are stored on your device and can be exported at any time.

8.2 Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time through the App settings. This will:

• Delete your account information from our servers
• Remove your usage history
• Cancel any active subscription (refunds handled by Apple)

Note: Documents stored locally on your device will not be deleted automatically.

8.3 Email Communications

We only send essential service-related emails. We do not send marketing emails.

9. Children's Privacy

Proofset is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

Your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where our servers are located. By using the App, you consent to this transfer. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for any international data transfers.
